Present:    Father Szolack, Sister Michele, Diane Cusick, Frank Dunleavy, Jessica Fahy, Tammy Gatto, Steve Graham, Patti Graham, Nick Moffa and Tom Petri.

1.  Father Szolack led council in an opening prayer.

2.  Minutes were approved from the April meeting.

3.  Chairman’s Comments:  Father Szolack reported that we are holding steady financially.  Our Easter collection was about the same as last year.  Monies raised in our Parish fundraisers (basket bingo, designer bag bingo and raffle) will be used for repairs at both sites.

- Deanery Meeting Review:  Steve Graham and Nick Moffa attended the Deanery Council Meeting on April 27th.  A representative from each Parish spoke regarding progress in Harvesting the Gifts and it was interesting to see where each Parish is in the process.

- Ordination of Deacon James:  Plans are underway for the ordination on May 7, 2011.  Father King’s First Mass of Thanksgiving will be offered at 2:00 on May 8th St. Margaret Church followed by a dinner in the hall sponsored by the Knights of Columbus.

4. Spiritual Committee Update (Patti Graham):  Patti reported on an upcoming 8 week Women of Grace Seminar; a planned weekly novena leading up to the Feast of St. John Vianney, and a future dedication at St. John Vianney of an Infant Jesus statue from the Philippines.

5.  Youth Ministry Update (Jessica Fahey):  Jessica reported a profit from the Youth Group pretzel sale, Youth Group Rally at Six Flags Great Adventure on 5/15, Good Council Homes Walk on 5/21; Youth Group table at the upcoming Carnival on Family Nights, Holy Hour on June 5th at St. John Vianney Church for youth, young adults and their families with fellowship to follow in the grotto with donated food and drinks.  

6. School Update (Sister Michele):  The following is scheduled during the month of May:  class trips, the carnival 5/23-5/27, Student Prayer Service on 5/17, Mission Carnival and Grandparents Day on 5/27.  June will be busy with 8th grade awards ceremony, graduation, Field Day and Jeopardy Tournament to end the year.

7.  Census Update (Steve Graham):  Steve reported that Janet is building the data base for the census.

8.  Old Business:  No comments.

9.  New Business:  For note keeping purposes, it is suggested that members provide a brief summary with bullet points to aid with preparing the minutes.

10.  The next meeting would be Tuesday, June 8th at 7:00 p.m., if we follow the current schedule.  There are members who have not been available on a regular basis.  We need to explore changing the schedule, utilizing a site such as gotomeeting.com, etc.
